“Individuality” By Rhonda DeBough

  • Claire V., WayFinder Mentee

“I had a fantastic experience with my Wayfinder Mentor. The experience was different than what I expected, but exactly what I needed. I received 12 in-depth, personalized, throughtfully prepared mentoring sessions to help identify where I needed support and growth. My mentor helped me feel more confident and grounded in myself. I learned to more confidently trust my intuition, instincts, problem solving, and creativity. One of my favorite takeaways is that there is no one “right” way to be in deathcare. there is room at the table for all types of skill sets, interests, and backgrounds. I am so grateful for the opportunity!”

About Us

The Story Behind WayFinder

WayFinder’s story begins with both profound love and profound loss—the birth and death of a sweet baby girl, Leah.

Through that experience came deeply transformative lessons. It revealed the importance of honoring our individuality—recognizing that we learn, grow, and thrive when we are free to interpret our experiences in ways that are personal and meaningful. In doing so, we not only elevate our own lives, but we connect with others more authentically—understanding that while we cannot be everything to everyone, what we can offer is depth, presence, and genuine connection.

It also illuminated the truth of our interdependence. We are not meant to navigate life alone. When we come together—supporting, challenging, and uplifting one another—we become far greater than the sum of our individual parts.

We are held by those who came before us, we walk alongside our peers, and we carry forward those who are still rising.

Then came another turning point: a cancer diagnosis. In many ways, it was like putting on a pair of glasses—suddenly, everything came into focus. Clarity replaced hesitation. The timing became undeniable.

And from that clarity, WayFinder was born.
